Sneakerplaats interview with @_marshallahsram_

1. Who (are you?), What (do you for a living?), Where (do you live?)

Hi, massive thanks for the invite to do this interview…

I’m Chris, 31 years old from Salisbury in the UK. I’m a carpenter by trade and run my own business.

2. When did your love for sneakers start and why do you love sneakers so much?

It started in secondary school when I was about 15-16. Rocking up to school in a fresh pair of kicks was the best feeling, seeing what silhouettes people had and how they styled them.

It even got to the point where we would customise our own pairs with permanent markers etc just to be different. I have 2 younger brothers so getting a new pair rarely ever happened, but when it did I treasured them and really looked after them.

This is where the love started for me…

3. Do you remember your first pair of sneakers? Which pair was it?

First pair I bought with my own money was a pair of Nike Air Max BW’s in black/red, literally wore that pair until the outsole had worn through.

Sadly I no longer have them, but I remember seeing the adidas x cope2 release in footlocker. When I started working, I worked every extra hour I could so I was able to buy 3 pairs from that release: 2 pairs of superstars and a pair of zx700’s…

I’ve still got the zx700’s somewhere at home.

4. What’s your favorite brand and model?

Nike all day, and it’s got to be the Air Max 1! It’s literally a timeless silhouette, the comfort is great and they go with everything. I love the design and history behind them too.

5. How many sneakers do you have in your collection?

No idea haha, I’ve never really classed myself as a collector. I never use to keep pairs once they were fully beat… that’s changed so right now I would say between 100 and 150 pairs

6. What’s your favorite pair from your collection?

Now that’s a tough question, there’s a few pairs that would all take top spot for me. My DS 1987 OG blue Nike Air Max 1 are definitely up there.

If sneakers could speak they would have some stories to tell. Also the Nike x Atmos Air Max 1 Elephant, Viotech and Morning Glory’s… Man there’s too many pairs I couldn’t choose just one.

7. Which pair(s) are still on your wish list?

That’s a never ending list, the OG Amsterdam’s are on there, also the 1986 and 1987 og pairs. If you have any in a US8 hit me up haha.

8. Do you have a favorite sneakerstore or -shop?

Yes! Offspring have gone a level ahead in how they do there raffles and release pairs. It’s all about the community, collection days are a vibe and I’ve made some good friends from pick up days.

9. Which brand and / or model would you never wear in your life? And why is that?

I have quite a diverse collection, I rate a lot of silhouettes but you’d never catch me in a pair of Balenciaga triple S haha.
